MV VIA AUSTRALIS/ MV MARE AUSTRALIS – Combining Ushuaia and Punta Arenas
We will travel to the Strait of Magellan on the Australis Cruises, such as the modern brand new MV VIA AUSTRALIS, or the traditional MV MARE AUSTRALIS, along the cold waters of the Beagle Canal. We will visit Cape Horn, Magdalene Island, the northeast branch of the Beagle Canal, the most southern city in the world: Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego Island or the ancient Chilean city of Punta Arenas, with a colonial Portuguese architectonical style that can be more clearly seen in the surroundings of its main square. Departing from Punta Arenas city, you will enjoy a 4-night journey on the Australis cruises (Mare Australis/Via Australis), and a 3-night journey departing from Ushuaia. Both journeys from Ushuaia and Punta Arenas, either on the Mare or Via cruise, have similar itineraries.

On these journeys, we will visit Cape Horn, Wulaia Bay, Gunther Plüschow Glacier, Magdalene Isle, Ainsworth Bay, Tucker Islet, the Avenues of the Glacier, etc.

You can also choose between two trip combinations of southern sailings through the Strait of Magellan and the Beagle Canal and the land areas to know our Southern Patagonia in detail, visiting Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego National Park, the Calafate (Perito Moreno Glacier and the glacier region) in the fascinating programs of the End of the World, Patagonia and the Strait of Magellan in 7 and 10 days.
