Tierra del Fuego National Park and an Adventure in canoes
Breakfast at the hotel. We set out from Ushuaia to the Ensenada Bay which is located inside the Tierra del Fuego National Park. It is also the place where the 7 km Coast Track begins and it goes through one of the most interesting locations of the Beagle Chanel. Here we can watch sea birds and mammals. We start the journey with the archaeological diggings of the well known shells, the mementos of the Yámana Indians. The Fuegino Forest on the coasts of the Beagle Chanel has nearly extinct species of trees such as the Canelo and Notro. We arrive to the Lago Roca after a few hours to have a local barbecue lunch before we start the adventure with canoes or duckies, entering by the River Lapataia.

We navigate the river from its birth until it meets with the Beagle Canal. In general, the navigation takes an hour and a half for the 5 km. We will be able to watch red foxes, woodpeckers, steam ducks, condors, cauquenes, black necked swans or macaes on their floating nests while we navigate the first track of the continental area. Once we enter to the Cormoranes Archipelago in the sea region it is the end of the journey in the Lapataia Bay.

Classic Navigation on the Beagle Channel and Magellan Penguins watching on the Martillo Island
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we leave during the morning from the port to navigate the icy waters of the Beagle Channel. We visit the Isla de los Pájaros (Bird Island) to see its abundant marine fauna, including skuas, steam ducks and grey seagulls. We can also watch sea lions of one and two hair on the Isla de los Lobos Marinos. Both Islands are part of the Bridge's Archipelago. On the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse there are Imperial and Rock cormorants. This was the place where the SS Monte Cervantes sank in 1930.

We continue our navigation to get to Port Almanza in Argentina and Port Williams in Chile until we disembark in the Martillo Island to appreciate the Magellan and Papúa Penguins. On our return to Ushuaia it is possible to see the Túnel and Remolino Estancias, which hoard the remains of the Monte Sarmiento steam boat that sank at the beginning of the 20th century. Our return to the city is very inviting due to the presence of the ultimate mountain chain of the Andes. This navigation lasts approximately four hours and a half.

Depart from Magellan Strait up to El Calafate
Breakfast in the hotel. We leave Ushuaia very early to start our journey to El Calafate, abandoning the last mountain promontory in the Cordillera Andina to enter the wild and silent Patagonia which appears when arriving at Río Grande, the Fueguina capital. Before this we pass the fishing hamlet of Tolhuin. To leave the Tierra del Fuego island, we must cross by ferry to the Continent at Bahía Azul, Chile, to arrive at Punta Delgada in a fascinating voyage we cross the restless Magallan Strait during around half an hour.

Then, already in Argentine territory, we continue crossing Patagonia up to our destination: El Calafate. We know all that the plane doesn´t allow us to see, the ascetic Patagonia, in another dimension, with its steppe, where the sea and the mountain continue with a plain land, monotonous and devastating, the other Southern Patagonia, where sheep graze in the wild. The journey is exhausting but it is worth discovering these remote and lonely lands.

Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier
Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning we make our way to the most famous glacier in the world. It was declared as a Heritage Humanity in 1981 by UNESCO and it is considered unique for many characteristics such as its continuous advance, its comfortable access to its best viewpoints and the possibility to walk over it. The name was given in honour of the great explorer of the Patagonian area, Perito Francisco Moreno.

We walk along the edge of the southern side of the Argentino Lake, before crossing the rivers Centinela and Mitre, at the same time we discover post card views of the pre Andean Mountain Chain. We arrive to Brazo Rico and enter Los Glaciares National Park. While we tour along the Rich Lake we see the huge blocks of ice drifting along and walk until we have a full panoramic view of this giant glacier. If the weather conditions are favourable, we can have the privilege of attending this unique spectacle in the argentinean Patagonia. the ice landslides from the southern falls in which huge ice floes cover the homonym channel as they are accumulated there or in the Brazo Rico. Here it is possible to get to know the glacier from different panoramic and viewpoints by walking the footbridges whilst we are informed about its history, characteristics and settings. In the afternoon we return to the Hotel.

Optional
Navigation along the Argentino Lake

We will go out to start our navigation along the largest lake in Argentina and the third in South America: the Argentino Lake, depending on the weather conditions of course. At the end of the XIX century, Valentín Filberg was the one who discovered it but he didn´t give it a name because he thought that it was over the waters of the Viedma Lake. The Perito Moreno proved Filberg´s mistake some years later and called it with the name as everyone knows: Argentino Lake.

Note: The Perito Moreno is a glacier in continuous advance; this is different to the great majority of such giant glaciers that are in a severe regression. In its advance it surrounds the cold waters of the Brazo Rico, that are origined from the Argentino Lake which causes some pressure over the ice that make the level of water increase in that part of the lake and has the effect of generating a tunnel of almost 45 metres through which flows from the Brazo Rico and in to the Argentino Lake. The continuous erosion by these waters causes parts of the dome to collapse producing fantastic spectacles.  .

An afternoon in the Patagonian Countryside enjoying a typical barbecue
Breakfast in the hotel. Before sunset we leave El Calafate to visit a typical styled Patagonian estancia which is very close to the centre of the City and it is located at the foot of the mountain of the same name. We receive a snack of pure mate cocido and fried cake, which shows us their local customs. Later we start a trekking to the Calafate Stream in order to reach a viewpoint with a privileged view, while we taste a good Patagonian wine. Back in the estancia, we will be able to attend a round-up of sheep using dogs, we visit an old shed which is used for sheep shearing and the facilities with their farmyards and sheep dips. During the shearing season, we can take advantage of this true art.

In the evening, we have dinner in the estancia restaurant by tasting empanadas, stews and the main dish: roast lamb with salads from the garden. It will be possible to attend a folklore show in which we enjoy the typical Patagonian dances.
