In
this program we will visit the
Ecuadorian capital city; we
will get to know its main attractions,
including a city tour to discover
this beautiful city visiting
the Otavalo’s indigenous
market or the Mindo Cloud Forest,
or even Papallacta thermal baths.
We
will head for Cuenca and Quito
and discover the Colonial Ecuador.
We will visit Cuenca and its
surroundings, where we will
see the handcraftsmanship of
San Joaquin, Ingapirca, Gualaceo,
Chordeleg, among other towns.
Quito, the Ecuador capital city,
and Cuenca, are two clearly
colonial cities, where time
seems to have stopped taking
us back to ancient times.
Visiting Quito and missing
the Otavalo’s indigenous
market would be a crime. So
in this program we take this
very much in mind; we will
also visit places such as
Peguche, San Antonio de Ibarra,
Cotacachi, Lake Cuicocha,
and of course the capital
of Ecuador: Quito, the colonial
city.
We
will visit Quito, the beautiful
Ecuadorian capital, and Baños
region, a very nice area with
a cloud forest full of orchids
and arboreal ferns, along
with rather colorful waterfalls,
depicting a special natural
landscape.
This
trip is similar to the Ecuadorian
Andes trip. The only difference
is that we descend the mountain
descent to the Pacific Coast
and visit to El Cajas National
Park up to the city of Guayaquil.
This park is known for having
a paramo landscape with about
200 lagoons of glacier origin
scattered through a large
area.
We
will cross the Andean Mountains
in Ecuador full of imposing
peaks like Cotopaxi, the world’s
highest active snow-covered
volcano (5,907m), and Chimborazo,
the highest peak in Ecuador.
We will see the beautiful
landscapes of Antisana volcano
and visit the Colonial Estates
up to Cuenca, passing by Riobamba
and Ingapirca.
We
will go deep into the Ecuadorian
Amazon, going down the Napo
River in a pure nature trip.
Leaving from Quito, we will
go down through Papallacta
up to the Amazonia. The Napo
River is the main tributary
of the great Amazon River.
It collects the waters of
other rivers formed in the
Cotopaxi Volcano and in the
meltwater from Mount Antisana
glaciers.
We
will arrive at Manta, Ecuador’s
second most important port.
We will get to know Montecristi,
famous for the Panama Hats.
We will sail along Isla de
la Plata (Silver Island) to
see the humpback whales and
discover autochthonous fauna
like albatross, boobies or
frigate birds. We will visit
one of the most fascinating
beaches of Ecuador: Los Frailes
(The Monks).
